About The Balearic Bay
The Balearic Bay compares forecast wind and swell with the real shape of each bay to show where the water may be calmer — across Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.
How the calm score works
When forecast inputs cover the selected hour, the app measures open-water fetch in 24 directions, terrain shelter and local sea-breeze effects. Beaches also include a separate editorial quality component. Missing or out-of-range inputs make the score unavailable rather than guessed; total forecast failure is labelled as a sample scenario.
Boat records are not all recommendations
Boat mode includes advisory sand records, protected Posidonia hazards, marinas, proposed or unverified fields and official managed moorings. Recommendations are limited to officially verified fields with a published reservation route. A published route is not live inventory: always check the operator, official charts, notices, vessel limits and local law.
